Das Dark Cherry wirkt unheimlich lebendig und der Klang hat sich auch verändert! Ich kenne diese Gitarre nun seit genau 3 Jahren und sie klang damals schon sehr gut, was mir auch Freunde immer wieder bestätigten… aber…
Aber jetzt ist sie nochmal besser geworden, denn die Haptik ist einfach durch deinen Lack meilenweit besser als vom Murphy-Mist!
Klanglich ist sie immer noch meine R9, aber die Frequenzen haben sich tatsächlich etwas geändert für mein Empfinden. Das Attack hat zugenommen und mehr obere Mitten, dafür etwas weniger Tiefmulm!
Ich kann den Hype absolut nun nachvollziehen und würde jede weitere Gibson-Gitarre nochmal zu Dir schicken, sei Dir da sicher!!!
( ... ) ich war mit Deiner Expertise, Deinem Dokumentationsprozess und letztendlich mit dem Endprodukt extrem glücklich und dankbar!! Wenn irgendwann eine weitere Gitarre den Weg in meine bescheidene Sammlung findet, dann sei Dir sicher, ich werde mich wieder melden, denn Du hast mich überzeugt! Ich habe so viel gelernt, was eine gute Gitarre ausmacht und das ein Custom Shop keine Garantie für uneingeschränkte Qualität ist, mein Blick auf die Gitarrenindustrie hat sich grundlegend verändert!

"Vom Sound her kann ich mich nur wiederholen.Dein Lack klingt definitiv. Überall ist so ein leichter Sparkle Effekt im Sound. Fast wie ein dezenter Chorus. Einfach nur schön.

Die Vorstellung, dass die Gitarre am Ende so aussieht wie Dein Kühlschrank wurde komplett übertroffen. Sie ist praktisch ein Teil Deines Kühlschrankes.

Florian, es gibt leider keine Worte dafür, mir fehlen die Superlative dafür.
Dir müsste ein Orden verliehen werden.
Ich weiß nicht, wie ich Dir für alles danken soll.

das ist ja mittlerweile schon die vierte Gitarre, die ich durch dein Bavarian Makeover veredeln lasse. Obwohl ich also ganz gut weiß, mit welcher Qualität sie wieder zu mir zurückkommt, bin ich jedes Mal wieder von dieser anmutigen Perfektion verblüfft. Ich gehe gar nicht mehr auf Einzelheiten ein — ALLES ist absolut perfekt.
Ich danke dir für die tollen Gespräche und deine unvergleichliche Arbeit.

P.S. Die Kontinuität, mit der du die „Custom Shop“ Switchplate auf der Rückseite sehr wahrscheinlich absichtlich verdreht anbringst, bringt mich zum Schmunzeln ;)

Hi Florian,

I received the guitar today in perfect condition and have been playing it for the last couple of hours. What can I say? It’s absolutely fantastic — even better than I hoped!

The first thing that struck me when I opened the case was the wonderful smell of fresh nitro. And when I picked up the guitar, I was surprised by how “broken in” the finish feels. It’s incredibly smooth, not sticky at all, which is the opposite of what I’ve come to expect from new nitro. The aging is beautifully done as well. Unlike the more obvious Murphy Lab-style checking, this finish checking is subtle and really comes alive as the light moves across it. It looks incredibly authentic — so cool! I’m curious to see how it continues to develop over time.

And the neck… what an amazing profile. It still has that satisfying, full feel, but it’s so much easier to play. Removing the shoulders made a huge difference. It fits the hand perfectly, and the guitar now plays and sounds even better than before — and looks absolutely stunning.

I really want to thank you for this wonderful project. The almost daily photo updates were a joy to receive, and your communication was always quick, clear, and helpful. You made the whole experience a pleasure, and you’ve returned to me a guitar that’s better than I ever imagined.

... another Murphy Lab Les Paul which I rescued. The varnish - especially on the back ... had been flaking off in ugly pieces. The finish was incredibly thick. Now it's ultra-thin, shows convincing weatherchecking and beautiful transitions of the darkburst. This is how thin nitrocellulose lacquer has to be painted ...

I'm truly thrilled and amazed. The feel of the finish is incredibly thin and beautifully done. The neck also has a fantastic feel thanks to the thin finish. You don't feel the weatherchecking, and it's not that noticeable, which is how it should be. They could learn a lot from you at Murphy Lab. Thank you so much it for making this amazing guitar exceptional

Aus "ich spiel die Gitarre mal kurz an" wurden 4 Stunden.
Das ist das Grösste, was man erreichen kann. Eine Gitarre so zu veredeln, dass man nur noch auf ihr spielen will und jetzt kommts:

A few weeks after I got my Les Paul back from you and after a few hours playing it I get back to you to give you my feelings.

It’s hard to believe this is the same guitar I sent you in September.It feels so different, the fret job is unbelievable. It is almost like if the guitar could play on its own, the neck is so smooth. Bends are easier and notes are clearer all along the neck.I can also hear a lot more clarity in the sound. It is like if the guitar was finally beathing with an open sound.

The aesthetic of the instrument is awesome with an incredibly beautiful burst that changes as daylight changes and the ageing looks so natural.

This is the most beautiful present I could offer my Les Paul for its 30th birthday.

Thank you Florian, it was a fantastic journey, from the first email to the delivery. You got immediately what I was expecting and went beyond…far beyond.

I am sure that some magic happened in Oberstdorf last September, it is so unreal.

... I restored and even renecked this poorly converted original 1952-57 Gibson Les Paul Standard to its former beauty. I changed the shallow neck-to-body-angle to the correct 4 degrees with preserving the original Royalite-binding, plugged several holes, saved the rotten and downshaved brazilian fretboard, installed the ABR-1 bridge and a proper tailpiece, refretted it, made a vintage bone-nut, refinished it with period correct JAEGER-nitrocellulose lacquer and subtly aged it. It plays and sounds amazing ...

It's ridiculous, sorry. It's so cheap that not even a chinese Chibson deserves this treatment. Apart from the extreme thickness of this "nitro cellulose paint", the ugly cracking and chipping. I will do this beautiful sounding and lightweight Gibson justice ...
